Labraorite gets its name from Labrador, after where it's found on the Isle of Paul in Canda. It's also found in Mexico, Russia, and Finland. There's a legend about the Northern Lights being trapped inside, which is were it got the nickname "Fire Stone." 

A healing and protective stone, Labraorite helps with Throat Charka. It's known to protect you from the negativity of the outside world.
